A Very Busy Week!

Mike led a beautiful morning prayer service this past Sunday. The wonderful sermon he chose was based on the Epistle reading from Romans 12:16-21 and written by Fr. Nick. In Christian Education we began a study of the book of James.

------------------------------------------------

This past week we took on the task of cleaning out the basement general storage room. Over the years many items were saved with the hope they would be useful in the future.

As these before cleaning

pictures show, we needed to make a change! A very daunting task indeed - where to start? what to keep?

Yikes!

As these beautiful pictures show - we were ultimately very successful!

While not biblical, the old saying "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" came to mind!

A big 'Thank You' to everyone who helped with the clean out!

We are cleaning out another room in the basement this Wednesday at 10:30.

In addition to physical cleaning, we have lots of paperwork to sort through and things to catalog! Please come join us if you can!

The Women's Bible Study Group still has two more lessons to complete in the "Scouting the Divine" series. I plan to restart with lesson 5 "Among the Vineyards" on Wednesday February 5 at 10 am at the Church.

This will give us 4 weeks to finish up (Feb 12, Feb 19, & Mar 4) before Teresa starts a new Bible Study, "Made to Crave - Satisfying Your Deepest Desire with God, Not Food"! Teresa is planning to start on Wed. March 11 at the Church!

Jim is back from Florida and ready to start up the Men's Group again. The first meeting will be Tuesday, February 11 at 9 am.

--------------------------------------------

Please remember Fr. Scott will not be with St. Peters next Sunday because he will be out of town on work - he is coming on the 4th Sunday in Feb instead. However, Deacon Shoup (and hopefully his wife) will join us for a Deacon's Mass on Feb. 9. We are looking forward to seeing both of them again!

-------------------------------------------

Last year as a congregation we saw the movie "The Moses Controversy", part of the Patterns of Evidence series of movies. The next movie in the series, "The Red Sea Miracle, part 1" is premiering on Tuesday, Feb. 18 @ 7 pm at the Tinseltown Bristol (unfortunately, this is the only showing time/date). If you are interested, please let me know. We will try to arrange for car pooling for those concerned about the late time. Also, let me know your thoughts on meeting for dinner before the show. The movie website lists the ticket price as $12.08.
