"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."
Acts 10:38-39

Our service this Whitsunday started with the baptism of Amelia Marie, Deborah and Matt's new little girl!
We were so happy to meet their friends and Amelia's god parents from California and the Tri-Cities area.
Fr. Scott's sermon reviewed the history of Pentecost also known as Whitsunday and reminded us that our Faith started at this time. He also reminded us of the importance of the third person in the Trinity - the Holy Spirit. The events described in Acts are the first time the Holy Spirit acted on people internally not just as an external force. Fr. Scott then discussed baptism and all of its amazing blessings. There is no greater gift a parent can give to their child then baptism!
Please find his complete sermon starting at the 42:00 minute mark at the link below:
Maryl told us Audree is healing well after her hip surgery! She is even finding ways to move around in her big cast which will hopefully come off in a few weeks! Many prayers for her complete recovery!

For Peace, and Deliverance from our Enemies
O Almighty God, who art a strong tower of defense unto thy servants against the face of their enemies; We yield thee praise and thanksgivings for our deliverance from those great and apparent dangers wherewith we were compassed. We acknowledge thy goodness that we were not delivered over as a prey unto them; beseeching thee still to continue such thy mercies towards us, that all the world may know that thou art our Saviour and mighty Deliverer; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Sue is leading a book reading and study from "Your Healing Is Within You" by the Anglican Bishop Jim Glennon. We will meet before Holy Communion services during the normal Sunday school hour between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on July 17, July 24, and July 31. Sue advises this is not a "new age" book, but rather presents an Anglican view and teaching about praying for divine healing. The book itself is out of print, but used copies are available on the internet (amazon, etc). Sue has several copies, but depending on how many people come, we may need a few more - so please let Sue know if you are planning to attend so she can work out the number of books needed. Please contact Sue if you have any questions or need more information. Thank you Sue for leading this study!

If you have a special prayer request but cannot join us, please send your request to Sue. Please contact Sue if you would like to join us on Zoom.

Last week I attended the wedding of my niece, Heather, in a beautiful outdoor service in Wisconsin . . .
And the baptism of their daughter, Elana.
Many "thank you's" to everyone who has prayed for Heather with me over the years. Please keep her in your prayers as she and her family grow together and become a part of a beautiful church family (St. John's Lutheran, Missouri Synod).
