The Gospel lesson for this past Sunday was the parable about the two men praying in the temple, but only one with humility. In these crazy times, we are reminded to humble ourselves before God.
Scott led a beautiful Morning Prayer Service this past Sunday, the Eleventh Sunday after Trinity. He presented a sermon discussing both 1) Worship - What's the Point? and 2) Worship - What do we get out of it? The answers include to worship is to obey, worship is to keep in touch with God, with worship we get to be with Him, and worship makes us fully alive!. Thank you Scott for leading our service!
This week we are holding our online Discord prayer group meeting on Thursday at 11:30! Thank you so much Sue for taking the time each week to lead our prayers!
Please note these changes are for this week only as several of us are attending Teresa's swearing in as Elizabethton Municipal Judge on Wednesday. Prior to the swearing in ceremony at 1 pm, we are meeting for lunch at the City Market Restaurant at 11:30. Please let me know if you want to join us!

Sadly, next Sunday is the last Sunday Fr. Scott will be with us before he moves to Oklahoma to be with Rebecca. After Holy Communion services, we will host a small farewell luncheon. Due to CO-VID concerns we will be placing a delivery order from Panera rather than bringing food. After speaking with Panera, Rose Marie advised they will deliver lunch boxes from their Pick Two menu (1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad) and their bakery items. Also, they will deliver the same type of items from their children's menu. Please note they will not deliver soups due to spillage/leakage concerns. Please check Panera's website and email Rose Marie what you would like to order by Friday.
