The Twelfth Sunday after Trinity - 2024

"And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak."

Fr. Yossi led our sung service with incense this past Sunday. His sermon focused on the miracle of Jesus healing the deaf and dumb man as described in St. Mark 7. Jesus looked upon disease and death as being an intrusion into God's original plan for humanity. As the bodies of men are afflicted with many varieties of sickness or disease, so are the souls of man afflicted with many kinds of sins. Jesus's reputation as a healer of diseases, both physical and mental, quickly spread and many sought his aid. As this miracle takes place in Gentile territory, Jesus is revealing that salvation is a matter of the heart and available to all people. The work of Jesus reveals that the kingdom of God is coming and the day is drawing near when all the promises of God for His people will be fulfilled. Fr. Yossi reminded us to take heart, the day is coming when all will be well!

Thank you Fr. Yossi for the beautiful service! Thank you Fr. Paul and Hutch for serving!

After lunch, Teresa, Diane, and Lin served a wonderful lunch of baked spaghetti, salads, bread, lemon blueberry dessert, and butterscotch Blondie's!

Thank you Teresa for sharing your lunch pictures1
