We can't wait to meet her!

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you. St. John 16:23
Fr. Scott's sermon reviewed the history of Rogation Sunday, reminding us the word Rogation means to "petition earnestly". Historically this Sunday was used to pray for an abundant harvest which led to the popular English tradition of walking & blessing the Parish fields, commonly known as 'Beating the Bounds'. As St. James reminds us in the Epistle lesson, our faith and prayers should also impact our lives, making us 'doers' of our faith. In the Gospel lesson, Jesus says we will have tribulations in our lives, but through prayer God will give us peace. During this three day Rogation season, include St. Peters in your earnest petitions, praying that we will fulfill God's mission for us in the area.
Fr. Scott's complete sermon can be found at the following link at the 21:55 mark.
Thank you Fr. Scott for the lovely sermon tying all our lessons together!

Fr. Scott updated us on Audree's recovery from her recent hip surgery. She is recovering well but is getting frustrated that she can't play like she wants too. She has a doctor's appointment this week - we continue to pray for healing and a quick, complete recovery!

Sue is leading a book reading and study from "Your Healing Is Within You" by the Anglican Bishop Jim Glennon. We will meet before Holy Communion services during the normal Sunday school hour between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on July 17, July 24, and July 31. Sue advises this is not a "new age" book, but rather presents an Anglican view and teaching about praying for divine healing. The book itself is out of print, but used copies are available on the internet (amazon, etc). Sue has several copies, but depending on how many people come, we may need a few more - so please let Sue know if you are planning to attend so she can work out the number of books needed. Please contact Sue if you have any questions or need more information. Thank you Sue for leading this study!
